He proudly earned his diploma from MacEwan University in 2023, and his journey into the world of alternative medicine has been nothing short of fulfilling. With over a decade of experience as a Registered Massage Therapist, his commitment to well-being has evolved to encompass a diverse range of specialties. He is a certified radial shockwave therapist with over 8 years of experience treating with this revolutionary regenerative technology. Additionally, he specializes in musculoskeletal treatments, women's health, mental health, and alleviating various forms of body pain. His unique background allows him to approach healthcare with a comprehensive and integrative perspective.
Acupuncture, in particular, holds a special place in Josh's heart. Its profound impact on overall health and its ability to address a multitude of concerns has never ceased to amaze him. Kati is the Director of Operations and part owner of Utopia MediSpa. She has a passion for skin care, fitness, and the epidemiology of chronic disease. She has worked between the medical and spa field for 13 years, performing in an executive role for over a decade until she opened Utopia. She is passionate about her clinic days, offering aesthetics services at this time. She is also happy to help clients with any light nutrition, stretching, or strength programs needed to relieve pain, improve mobility, or just to feel better.

Kati has a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Alberta in addition to extensive skin care training. She has always had a passion for serving the community in which she lives. Originally from Nova Scotia, she now resides in Summerside, Edmonton, with her husband, 2 sons, and 3 cats. She is a foodie at heart and loves to cook. She also enjoys golfing, paddleboarding and gardening; in her minimal spare time, she enjoys a good movie with family.

Chanelle is an Aesthetician part owner of Utopia MediSpa. She has been an aesthetician for over 13 years, receiving her certification in Vancouver in 2010. She is a master aesthetician, skillfully performing all advanced spa and medispa treatments offered at Utopia. She is an experienced facial specialist, a Brazilian waxing extraordinaire, a whiz at all nail services, and a microneedling expert (coming October 2023); she thrives on making each client’s experience the very best. Chanelle is always looking for learning opportunities and advancing her skills to enhance client experience. She has recently added VCarbon Peels, MESOtherapy, Universkin S.tep treatments, and dermaplaning to her service offerings, with hopes to incorporate Microcurrent Therapy into her treatment regime by 2024. Her expert-level knowledge of Eminence Organics Skin Care (coming November 2023) puts most of us to shame and her facials are arguably some of the best in Edmonton. She has been an extremely popular therapist at every spa in which she has worked, booking weeks out during certain seasons. Trust us when we tell you, she is 100% worth the wait!

Chanelle is inspired by her children and plays the role of Supermom to her two beautiful daughters, a dog, and a cat, rather expertly. She secretly enjoys singing and dancing around the house when she has it all to herself. She loves camping and outdoor time with her family, frequently jetting off on spontaneous road trips to find a new swimming hole or simply to escape from the city grind. She works as hard for her business as she does for her family, always taking the time to listen and to make her clients and friends feel important and cared for.
Mariann Balogh
Master Aesthetician
Mariann joined our team with over 2 decades of experience and an enthusiasm to help clients in all areas of their beauty and wellness. Originally from Budapest, Hungary, Mariann offers the same services you have come to love from Utopia - with a European twist. In her early career, Mariann completed a degree in Registered Nursing and practiced in a hospital setting for several years prior to coming to Canada, where she started out in Nova Scotia before moving on to Alberta.

Mariann holds advanced certificates in Medical Dermatology, Esthetics and Cosmetology, and Laser treatments. She is also certified in waxing (including Brazilians), tinting, facials, pedicures, radiofrequency, and AstroDome facials. She has been a wonderful addition to the Utopia MediSpa team and glows with good energy wherever she goes. Her massage is fantastic and her calming energy will have you sailing off into blissful relaxation before the 2nd cleanse.
In her spare time, Mariann enjoys cooking, spending time with her young son, and expanding her ever-growing collection of funky shoes.

She is dedicated to creating a relaxing and rejuvenating experience for all of her clients, tailoring each treatment with her well-rounded skillset to ensure the best care. Sarah continues to be committed to continuous learning and growth in the field of massage therapy so she can always offer top-notch service.

Jake utilizes a treatment style that blends therapeutic massage with relaxation and movement-based techniques. His approach is personalized to each client, whether they’re looking to manage persistent tension and discomfort, improve mobility and flexibility, support an active lifestyle, or simply take some time to decompress.

With a background in personal training and additional education in assisted stretching, Thai-style stretching, IASTM and myofascial techniques, Jake enjoys looking beyond just where something hurts. He incorporates movement, mobility and hands-on assessment into his treatments to help identify areas of restriction and create a treatment that feels both effective and restorative.
​
Jake particularly enjoys working with neck and shoulder tension, low back and hip discomfort, mobility restrictions, and clients who are active or returning to exercise and sport. Treatments can range from focused therapeutic work to a more relaxing full-body approach depending on what each client needs that day.
Originally from the UK, Jake has called Canada home since 2016. Outside the treatment room, you’ll usually find him at the gym, exploring the outdoors, listening to music, or catching up on the latest Drag Race.
Anibal Figueroa, RMT

Anibal is a dedicated and compassionate massage therapist who completed his Massage Therapy studies at Oxford College in Ontario in 2024. He specializes in sports massage, therapeutic massage, and cupping therapy. His goal is to help clients reduce muscle tension and pain, improve mobility, recover from physical activity, and enhance their overall well-being. He provides personalized treatments based on each client’s individual needs in a professional, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

In her time away from Utopia, Mele works full time as a med-surge nurse for Alberta Health Services. Originally from Eritrea, she now lives in South Edmonton with her husband, son, and daughter. Phyllis has been a part of the Utopia nursing team since our very first year in business, and we’re so fortunate to have her! Phyllis completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) at the University of Alberta and has been a Registered Nurse for six years.

In her hospital practice with Alberta Health Services, Phyllis works as a Surgical Float RN, providing care across a variety of specialties including General & Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, and Thoracics. Her diverse clinical experience has given her a strong foundation in patient care, clinical assessment, and surgical nursing.
​
At Utopia, Phyllis brings that same expertise and attention to detail to aesthetic nursing. She has a special interest in neuromodulators and dermal filler, while also providing the full range of nursing services offered at Utopia. Beyond her clinical expertise, Phyllis is known for her warm, compassionate approach and genuine commitment to making every client feel comfortable and cared for.
Outside of nursing, Phyllis is a proud mom to two beautiful children, who keep her busy and bring her plenty of joy and a chaotic world.

Mickey is a passionate Lash Technician with over five years of experience helping clients enhance their natural beauty through safe, high-quality lash extension services tailored to their individual style and preferences.
Clients often compliment her on excellent lash retention, gentle application technique, and commitment to protecting the health of their natural lashes while ensuring a comfortable, relaxing experience. Mickey believes beautiful lashes should never come at the expense of natural lash health.
Mickey regularly invests in continuing education and training to stay current with the latest techniques, trends, styles, and high-quality products, allowing her to provide the best possible results for every client.
Outside of lashing, Mickey works part-time with Legal Aid Alberta. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, going on long drives, and dancing. One of her personal goals is to learn how to swim when she has more free time.
