Ingredients
1 2-pack Pillsbury Pre-made Pie Crusts
6 Granny Smith Apples
4 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
2 tsp Cinnamon
½ tsp Nutmeg
¼ tsp Clove
¼ tsp Allspice
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 cup Skor Toffee Bits
½ cup Brown Sugar
1 whole egg
Optional Dressings
Caramel Sauce
Vanilla Ice Cream
Cheddar Cheese
Time to Make: 1h 30m
Total Servings: 8
1. Preheat oven to 350°.
2. In a large bowl, mix cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice, brown sugar, and the granulated sugar minus 1 tbsp
(set aside with the egg).
3. Peel and slice the apples. They can be in thin wedges or in small cubes. Add to the spice mixture, along with the lemon juice and Skor bits, and mix it to fully coat each piece of apple.
4. Unroll one of the pie crusts into the bottom of the pie plate and fill with the apple, Skor, and spice mix. Add the butter to the top of the mix in small cubes.
5. Unroll the 2nd pie crust. Cut it into ¼ inch strips and weave strips into a lattice across the top of the pie. You can also just unroll it across the top and vent it with a knife for a less fussy approach.
6. Beat egg and sugar together until well mixed and brush over the surface of the pie.
7. Place pie plate on a large pan to catch overflow and bake for 45-55 minutes until golden brown.
8. Allow to rest for 1 hour prior to serving.
Recommended with a drizzle of caramel and vanilla ice cream, or on its own with a single slice of cheddar.
